Kathleen Ross-Allee, co-founder of The Yoga Prescription (with Alison Crowley), is an RYT-500 certified yoga therapist and graduate of the Loyola Marymount University’s Yoga Therapy Program (2010), the first and only university accredited program in the United States under the direction of Dr. Larry Payne. Kathleen is currently the Managing Director of the YTRx Yoga Therapy Programs at LMU and the Managing Editor of the Yoga Therapy Rx Sangha online magazine. Combining her knowledge of fitness, illness/injury rehabilitation and yoga, Kathleen offers a unique perspective through her teaching that is complemented by her philosophy to make yoga safe, enjoyable and accessible to all. Kathleen began her business, ‘Leen Bodies, in 1991 as an ACE-certified personal trainer in Los Angeles. For more than 20 years, she has specialized in creating post-rehabilitation exercise programs for her clients. With her business partner, Alison Crowley, Kathleen and Alison have created and are currently teaching Gentle Yoga Therapy for Cancer classes for Tower Hematology Oncology Medical Group and for the Center for Radiation Therapy of Beverly Hills. In addition, Kathleen’s Gentle Yoga Therapy for Parkinson’s class which she offers for free to patients and caregivers at Liberation Yoga is very popular in the Parkinson’s community. She teaches privately as well as at studios and corporations throughout southern California. She has taught at the Wooden Center at UCLA, CD Chivas, USA, The Center for Yoga, Larchmont, and Little Tokyo Parkinson’s Support Group. She is currently teaching Gentle Yoga Therapy at Liberation Yoga in addition to running her private practice. Kathleen is a registered yoga teacher (RYT-500) with the National Yoga Alliance (YA) and a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).
